Under the direction of the COO & IT Director, the IT Systems Administrator supports efficiency and effectiveness of Trust IT operations; researches, plans, coordinates and supports all Trust computers, operating systems, and network conductivity. The IT Systems Administrator is knowledgeable and current in the IT field and serves as network administrator for the Trust.


  1. Operate, maintain, and secure the local area network, internet connectivity, servers, switches, hubs and Trust databases.
  2. Identify areas for improvement and respond to department requests.
  3. Obtain licensing and maintain access and permissions to all systems.
  4. Serve as primary desktop support for Trust staff, conduct training sessions for staff as needed, and enforce personnel technology policies.
  5. Maintain inventory and functionality of all IT and audio-visual media equipment at all Trust sites.
  6. Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network connectivity issues.
  7. Manage vendors for IT products, services, and proactively work with them to ensure appropriate service delivery to organization.
  8. Maintain IT asset management.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by COO & IT Director.
  10. As a team member of the Trust, demonstrate positive interpersonal skills that promote open communication, and respect for all positions, maintenance of confidentiality and contribute to the success of the organization.


  • Undergraduate degree in IT Technologies with 1-3 years of experience. Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to teach and assist colleagues while maintaining flexibility and patience.
  • Experience with a wide range of systems software on Windows and Apple platforms. Familiar with and supportive of cloud computing.
  • Experience in the configuration and maintenance of a medium sized network.
  • Experience working with backup systems and remote access services.
  • Ability to manage time and work independently. Some off-hours and weekend availability required. Valid driver's license: access to automobile for travel to four Trust locations.


Administration offices are located in a downtown accessible historic building. Oak Park and Hyde Park Trust sites are located in multi-level, work areas not accessible to the mobility impaired. Position requires frequent and regular computer and phone use as well as travel to multiple work locations. Workplace is a smoke-and-drug-free environment. Weekend and evening hours may be required.
