2026 Summer Design Camps
Wright Outside: Nature meets Design
In addition to being a world-famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright was also involved with the landscape design at each of his buildings. Wright’s concept of organic architecture integrated design with the natural world. His buildings were site specific and used the surrounding environment to enhance the beauty of the buildings themselves.
This year’s summer camp, Wright Outside: Nature meets Design focuses on landscape architecture, and how Wright built in harmony with nature. Campers will explore how the natural environment and intentional landscaping shaped Wright’s groundbreaking designs throughout his career. Students will also learn about the history of landscape architecture in the Oak Park and Chicago area, get their hands dirty planting flowers and greenery, and design a model set in a beautiful landscape of their own creation.

New Summer Camp Offering this year at the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust
Partnership Camp with the Oak Park Education Foundation
Design My Space: Wright Remixed (7th - 8th Grade Camp)
This one-week session invites campers to level up their rooms and make them totally Instagram-worthy! Campers will explore Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home and Studio, learning how his design philosophy shaped the spaces he created. Inspired by his bold approach, students will define their own interior design style and develop a design philosophy to guide their ideas. Campers will sketch, prototype, and design furniture and interior elements, experimenting with creative shapes and functionality. By the end of the week, they’ll build a model that brings their vision to life—original designs that reflect their personality, creativity, and flair, ready to show off to friends and snap pics for the ’gram!
This camp will take place at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio and is offered in partnership with the Oak Park Education Foundation.
